New Online Part B Enrollment Application

Updated: Aug 7, 2020

Medicare.gov has now introduced a new method of enrolling in Part B Medicare online, and it's fast and easy for you to apply at the comfort of your home.

COVID-19 Impact On Medicare

To stop the spread of the coronavirus, many businesses had to either temporarily or permanently close. Because of this COVID-19, this all resulted in millions losing their jobs and losing their healthcare coverage. But on the bright side, many may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period to enroll in Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance)

Medicare has made it easy for seniors to apply for medicare part B through Docusign. This eliminates missing mails, faxes, and paperwork for your prospects. This is a game-changer! Due to COVID-19, thousands of seniors over the age of 65 lost their job and are forced to apply for Medicare Part B for their insurance coverage. You can walk them through how to fill the electronic form out or do it for them with their permission. This will help seniors tremendously, and it's a faster process.

Sign Up Online

If an individual already has Medicare Part A, which is Hospital Insurance, there's an online application that enables them to apply for Part B. First, go to this link: https://secure.ssa.gov/mpboa/medicare-part-b-online-application/ or go to https://www.cms.gov/Medicare/CMS-Forms/CMS-Forms/CMS-Forms-Items/CMS017339.

To complete this online enrollment application, you will need:

  • Your Medicare number

  • Your current address and phone number

  • A valid email address

  • Documentation verifying your GHP coverage through your or your spouse's current employment.

Once the member is done filling out the application, they will get a notification in the mail of their application status. They can even call Medicare for their status at 1-800-633-4227.

This is going to be one of the many options that agents can use to help their members sign up for Part B. Now that everything is converting to technology and virtual meets, both licensed agents and medicare members need to get familiar with the new changes and methods for Medicare.
